Story
In Nemesis, an alien invasion strikes Earth, devastating New York. Many of the citys heroes have gone missing, but a few remain. Youll start off as The Thing, bashing his way off the Brooklyn Bridge, then move on to Wolverine, and Elektra. Through the story mode, youll encounter more heroes and villains, unlocking new characters for play in both the story and arcade fighting mode. The game includes plenty of familiar heroes and villains. As you progress, youll take control of Spider-Man, Daredevil, Venom, Iron Man, Magneto, Storm, and The Human Torch.
The storyline centers around Roekel, a mad scientist who has developed his own group of super beings called the Imperfects. Roekels fighters cover the gamut of abilities, making them roughly equivalent to the Marvel line-up. Brigade, for instance, is a hulk-ish fighting brute, while Faultzone uses powerful seismic waves. There is the molecularly unstable Hazmat, electrically charged Johnn Ohm, a butt-kicking hottie psycho named Paragon, a female Human Torch-like fighter named Solara, and the teleporting, scantily-dressed Wink.

--Marvel comic artist Jae Lee supervised the Marvel heroes look, and Hollywood character designer Paul Catling (whose previous work includes SPIDER-MAN, THE PUNISHER, and HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS) created the Imperfects.

--MARVEL NEMESIS: RISE OF THE IMPERFECTS is Electronic Arts’ first Marvel game since the company picked up the license to the characters. The 3D fighting game features many of Marvel’s biggest superhero names, including Spiderman, Wolverine, and Iron Man. In addition to the familiar faces, players will also recognize many locations, including the Avengers’ mansion and the Daily Bugle. The storyline revolves around exiled alien scientist Niles Van Roekel. Van Roekel was forced to leave his homeworld after an alien invasion fleet conquered it. Plotting to retake his planet, he mutates six humans into the powerful Imperfects. He only needs one more component to complete his invasion plans, but to get it, he has to invade earth. The Marvel superheroes quickly race to stop him. Over a dozen superheroes and villains are available in the game, each with his or her own special abilities, strengths, and finishing moves. Story mode follows each of the heroes as they battle the six Imperfects and then Van Roekel himself. The environments are fully interactive, allowing players to use their surroundings against their opponent. Completing story mode with different characters will unlock more characters, trading cards, and comics. In addition to the single-player mode, Rise of the Imperfects also features multiplayer and quick play modes.
